Nuestra Historia

     Dr Carlos M. Gonzalez decided to peruse his dream of having his own medical practice in 1986.  He established his first office on 103rd Street Corona, New York.  He provided primary and preventive care. His patients, mainly from the Dominican Republic, were very happy with his care. They brought their family and friends to the office, making Dr. Gonzalez well known and liked in the neighborhood. His practice grew quickly solely by word of mouth.
     In 1988, he decided to move his medical practice to Elmhurst, New York, one if not the most ethnically diverse neighborhood in New York City.  Most of his patients followed him from Corona to the new office.  At the beginning, local residents from the area, mostly Colombian, joined the practice. Soon after, other members of the Hispanic community and English-speaking patients attended the office seeking medical care. Finally, patients from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Thailand, and the Philippines also joined the practice.
     In 1995, he made his office a medical corporation under the name of Broadway Internal Medicine.  Dr. Luz Ares joined the practice in 2002.  They both are committed to offer their patients quality primary health care in a professional manner with the utmost respect and consideration to their patients.  They know their patients on a personal level and offer them close and individualized care.

     The office has trained administrative and medical assistants who facilitate and help Dr. Gonzalez and Dr. Ares provide the optimum medical care. Broadway Internal Medicine, P. C. has developed a strong network with other doctors, specialists, hospitals, pharmacies, pharmaceutical companies, laboratories and radiological facilities to better assist their patient’s needs.
     The year 2009, has been very importance for Broadway Internal Medicine, P. C.  The business relocated to a larger and more comfortable space still located in Elmhurst, walking distance from the previous office. With the help of the Department of Health of New York City, it has implemented a state of the art modern system of electronic medical records.

      The doctors realized Health Care was going a complete transformation and decided to be proactive and implement the necessary changes to comply with the new demands without losing the personal and close way of caring for their patients. Using the new technology, improving their staff and practicing stronger preventive and evidence based medicine Broadway not only continue providing excellent primary care but were recipients of stated and national awards.  Broadway has accomplished # stages of the Meaningful Use, E Healthy Hearts and Hypertension Champions of The Million Hearts in 2013.    
     Dr. Gonzalez and Dr. Ares appreciated the support and loyalty of all their patients.  They are committed to the community the serve and have establish events:  Caminata a la Salud (Walk to Health), Pies Contentos (Happy Feet) to promote healthy lifestyles, good nutrition and regular exercise.    
     Today, Broadway Internal Medicine, P. C. is a well-known and respected medical office.  It provides quality care to the community with utmost respect and personal touch.  The goals for the future are to continue learning and developing the newest tools and technology in order to continue providing the best medical care to their community.

 

Carlos M Gonzalez, M.D.

    Dr. Carlos González nació en San Juan, Puerto Rico.  Se graduó de Bachillerato en Química y Biología en la Universidad de Puerto Rico, en 1977.   Estudio en la Universidad Central del Caribe, donde recibió su grado de Doctor en Medicina en 1981.  Se trasladó a la cuidad de New York para hacer su internado y residencia en TheHospital  Brooklyn.  En 1984, recibió su título de Doctor en Medicina Interna.  Ha sido diplomático de la Junta de Medicina Interna  desde 1999.
     Luego de su residencia, trabajo como Médico internista en Kings Harbor Nursing Home en el Bronx, New York. Es este lugar brindocuidado médico a ancianos.  Desde 1978 hasta 2008, Dr. González trabajo como Médico Internista en la sala de emergencia en Woodhull Hospital.  Ha estado en práctica privada en Corona y Elmhurst, New Yorkdesde 1986.
     Dr. Carlos González tiene privilegios de admisión en elNew York – Prebysterian Hospital . Participa de la Red de Médicos en la Comunidad del Hospital de Elmhurst, N.Y.


Luz D Ares, M.D. 

     Dr. Luz D. Ares nació en Las Piedras, Puerto Rico.  Se graduó con honores, Magna CumLude de bachiller en Química y Biología en 1977.  Estudio Medicina en la Universidad Central del Caribe, clase de 1981.  Desde 1981 hasta 1984 hizo su internado y residencia en Medicina Interna en The Brooklyn Hospital.  De 1984 a 1986, hizo su especialidad en nefrología, una rama de la medicina dedicada al estudio de los riñones, en el Montefiore Medical Center en el Bronx New York.
     De 1987 a 1988 trabajo como doctora de la Unidad de diálisis del Hospital Booth Memorialen Flushing, New York.  Dr. Ares trabajo como médico primarioen Comprehensive Family Care Center en el Bronx, N.Y. desde 1988- 2001.  Posteriormente,  trabajo en el programa de residencia de Medicina de Cuidado Primario en Elmhurst Medical Center, en ElmhurstNew York durante 12 años.   En 2002, comenzó a trabajar en práctica privada en Broadway Internal Medicine en Elmhurst, New York. Es diplomática de la Junta de Medicina Interna desde el año 2000.
     Dr. Luz D. Ares tiene privilegios de admisión en el NewYork – Presbyterian Hospital de Fhushing, N.Y. Participa de la Red De Médicos en la Comunidad del Hospital de Elmhurst, N.Y.


Personal

     Asistentes Médicos Certificadas forman una parte vital de nuestra Practica.  Conocen y siguen las prácticas y procedimientosde BIM.   Son bilingües en inglés y español. Tienen dominio del uso de la tecnología electrónica médica.  Están entrenadas para atender las necesidades de los pacientes. Asisten y complementan la labor de los doctores.  Toman parte en la educación y orientación médica de los pacientes.  Están comprometidas a brindar el mejorservicio a los pacientes con respeto y consideración.
